Ignite Texas Retreat
Ignite Texas is a student-led Christian camp for incoming freshmen and transfer students at UT that serves to introduce students to community and ministries in Austin. Ignite Texas is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Director; Fall 2013 - Present
· Envision plan to support growth by expanding to multiple sessions for the first time
· Empower nine executives for servant leadership through stregth-based delegation and relationship-building
· Conduct two weekly meetings, executive and all-staff, to equip 130+ staff members for their leadership roles at camp
· Manage all logistical operations of camp, including staff recruitment, event planning, and financial forecasting
· Pioneer new publicity events and media channels targeting income freshmen, previously doubling camper count to 230
· Cultivate business and church partnerships to advance long-term financial goals
Assistant Director; Fall 2012 - Summer 2013
· Organize campsite, band, and speaker while teaming with the director to make all major decisions
· Accommodate needs of Ignite in accordance with restrictions in budget
• Restructure specific arenas of retreat that need improvement from the previous year
• Meet with directors of similar retreats at other colleges to brainstorm long-term growth
· Delegate tasks to specific execs to carry out long-term plans for Ignite’s growth and publicity
• Recruit and manage co-chairs through extensive personal interviews
Co-Chair; Fall 2011 - Summer 2012
· Recruited and managed counselors during year-long training through retreats and film
· Conducted two weekly meetings for my camp that trained them to be effective counselors
· Coordinated and promoted campus-wide fundraising and publicity, which doubled our camper count in one year
· Won 1st place in the year-long “Tally Hoedown” competition that reflected fun-loving unity and teamwork within my camp

· Led three small group campers at retreat in August, pointing them toward success in college
· Participated in weekly meetings through contributing ideas for camp bonding and small group unity
· Volunteered at Austin’s Project Serve and the Inner Books Project
